As public servants, our number one priority is to create and drive policies and programs that directly improve the quality of life for every county, community, neighborhood, and family across the Commonwealth.
Kentuckians want and expect their state and local leaders to work in tandem to achieve this goal.
Over the last 18 months, this level of leadership and commitment has been on full display by the offices of Kentucky's Circuit Court Clerks, the Administrative Office of the Courts, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as we partnered to transition the state away from a local to a regional model of driver licensing services.
I want to personally thank you and your staff for the hard work, dedication, and patience as we successfully completed this transition by the June 30, 2022, statutory deadline. You should all take pride in what you have accomplished for the people you serve.
It’s truly a milestone, but it’s not the finish line.
As we buildout and maintain a regional model of driver licensing that is constantly improving to better serve the public, we know more work needs to be done. We have made great strides, but to fully succeed we must continue to have you and your staff as our partners on the road ahead.
We continue to ask for the same level of guidance you have provided us throughout this transition. We would not be where we are today without it.
From ways to improve our regional offices to how we can better broadcast our many remote licensing services, your leadership and vision remain just as important to us at this stage of the project as they did from day one.
As we move forward and continue to improve on every aspect of the state’s regional model of driver licensing, it is our hope that you will continue this journey with us.
