Drilling repairs begin on KY 1056 Blackberry Creek starting June 15th 2022

Pike County (June 16, 2022) Contractor, King Crete, will begin repairs to KY 1065 starting at mile marker 4.7 (.05 miles northeast of the KY 3419 intersection) and continuing through mile marker 10.1(1.67 miles south of WV 65) in the area known as Blackberry Creek. Repairs will start Wednesday June 15, 2022 at 7am.

Work is projected to take approx. 2 to 3 months to finish and will consist of drilling vertical steel rails and using horizontal cribbing material to stabilize the roadway. Large equipment will be required to do this work, which will restrict the roadway widths during construction, because of this, the road will be down to one lane with flaggers at each end directing traffic during working hours. Crews will work Monday through Friday 7am to 5pm. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in this area and to expect delays.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Contractors understands the inconvenience to the public these repairs may cause, and we will do our best to limit delays. As always, slow down and use extra precaution when traveling in a construction zone
