I-71 Rolling Roadblock Continue

Tomorrow in Oldham County

Transportation researchers testing pavement

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 15, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of additional rolling roadblocks on Interstate 71 in Oldham County. The rolling roadblocks will start at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 16, in the right lane of I-71 South at Exit 22 to KY 53 for Ballardsvill/LaGrange and continue to Exit 14 to KY 329 for Crestwood/Pewee Valley. The work will then switch to the right lane of I-71 North at exit 14 and continue to exit 22. Researchers are continuing the testing pavement. The work is expected to be completed by 1 p.m.

A rolling roadblock is a term to describe a common highway traffic control technique used to temporarily slow or stop traffic upstream of construction, maintenance and utility work requiring a short-term full closure of a lane or road.

Motorists should use caution while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
