KY 131/Said Road Reopened near McCracken-Graves County Line
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 6, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has reopened a section of KY 131/Said Road in McCracken County between Reidland and Symsonia.
KY 131/Said Road has been closed near the McCracken-Graves County Line to allow a culvert to be replaced at McCracken County mile point 0.59.
Substantial rainfall forced a contractor to delay assembly of the pre-fab aluminum arch culvert until after Memorial Day. However, crews working on the project were able to pick up the pace to complete the work earlier than expected.
While the roadway between Symsonia and Reidland was closed to traffic, the KYTC McCracken County Highway Maintenance Crew performed additional maintenance activities along this section of KY 131/Said Road, including brush cutting and repairs to a cross drain that would have otherwise impacted traffic.
KY 131/Said Road is now open between Symsonia and Reidland. Motorists are reminded that the excavation for the culvert has a temporary gravel cap. The roadway will be allowed to settle for several weeks before a paving crew places a permanent asphalt cap on the excavation.
Approximately 2,200 vehicles travel this section of KY 131 in an average day.
