Bridge Maintenance Work Zones On KY 453 in Grand Rivers Area of Livingston County Move to New Locations
Work zones to have a 12 ft. load width restriction
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 10, 2022) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has completed work at two locations along KY 453/Dover Road in the Grand Rivers area of Livingston County and is moving to two new locations.
The contractor has completed bridge joint work, deck maintenance, and painting on KY 453/Dover Road at the Badgett Terminal Road and Railroad Overpass about 1/2-mile north of the KY 453 Canal Bridge. Work is also completed on the 4-lane section at the Vulcan Reed Quarry Haul Road Overpass between U.S. 62 and I-24 Exit 31
The contractor has moved to new work zones at the following locations nearby:
KY 453/Dover Rd at mile point 2.1 Traffic is restricted to one-lane with an automated signal on the P&L Railroad Overpass immediately south of the U.S. 62/KY 453 Interchange. There is a 12 ft. maximum load width restriction.
U.S. 62 between KY Dam and KY 453 Traffic is restricted to one-lane in each direction on U.S. 62 near the 1 mile marker on the Vulcan Reed Quarry Haul Road/P&L Railroad Overpass. This is at the west end of the U.S. 62 4-Lane section. There is a 12 ft. maximum load width restriction.
Work on the KY 453/Dover Road P&L Overpass will impact traffic to and from the northern entrance to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area and the Grand Rivers area.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Work on these bridges is expected to take about 45 days to complete. That puts the target completion date around July 29, 2022.
Intech Contracting, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $2,910,147 group bridge maintenance project. The target completion date for all work included in the contract is November 15, 2022.
