I-64 Width Restrictions Imposed in Shelby County
The restrictions are in a section being resurfaced
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 13, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a width restriction on Interstate 64 in Shelby County. Width restrictions of 11 feet have been put in place for the eastbound and westbound lanes of the interstate between mile marker 38 at the KY 1790 (Hooper Station Road) overpass and exit 43 for KY 395 (Waddy Road). The restrictions are related to an ongoing asphalt resurfacing project.
The suggested detour for I-64 East is to take exit 32 to KY 55 North, U.S. 60 East, KY 151 South and reconnect with the interstate. For I-64 West, take exit 48 to KY 151 North, US. 60 West and KY 55 South.
The restrictions are scheduled to be lifted on Monday, May 16. The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
