Project scheduled for Mt. Sterling in
Montgomery County
Water and sewage improvements for downtown Mt. Sterling
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 6, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled project by the City of Mt. Sterling. This work will include water and sewage improvements near US 60. The portion of roadway will be between Richmond Avenue and South Queen Street.
Monday, May 9 – daytime hours
- traffic will be maintained on US 60 (between milepoints 4.82 and 5.30)
- South Queen Street intersects US 60
- a section of South Queen Street is located at KY 713 between Main Street and East Locust Street
- KY 713 continues and ends at East Locust Street
- North Queen Street does not connect to a state route
Detour
- thru traffic, especially trucks, are strongly encouraged to utilize the Mt. Sterling Bypass/KY 686 south of Mt. Sterling as a detour
- signage will be posted to guide motorists through the detour
All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
