Interstate lane and ramp closures
for Kentucky Oaks and Derby
Expect heavy traffic on I-65 and I-264 around Churchill Downs
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 5, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announces interstate lane and ramp closures in conjunction with traffic management for the Kentucky Oaks and Derby.
The Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) East and West exit ramps to Southern Parkway, Third Street and Taylor Boulevard will close at 5:40 p.m. on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7. In addition, the right lane of Interstate 65 North before Crittenden Drive will close at 5:50 p.m. on those days. These closures will remain in place until the traffic has cleared, usually around 10 p.m.
Expect delays and heavy traffic on I-65 and I-264 around Churchill Downs. Use caution and watch for traffic control personnel.
