Events at Kentucky Airports
 Great BalloonFest: Great Balloon Glow April 29 at 8 PM ET One of the most anticipated events of balloon race weekend is the Kentucky Derby Festival Great Balloon Glow. This year, it moves to a new location at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront.
 Food Truck Fly-in April 30 at 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM ET Where: Central Kentucky Regional Airport KRGA in Richmond Come out and join us for our 1st annual food truck fly in featuring Kyle’s Kitchen & The Chuck Wagon Free Young Eagles flights for kids ages 8-17 (see below). Wings Flight Training will also be offering discovery flights for $30.
EAA Chapter 892 Young Eagles Rally April 30 at 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM ET Where: Madison Airport, 124 Madison Airport Road in Richmond
Youth get to spend about 15 to 20 minutes in the air and follow the basic steps in the flight pattern. They will experience the awesome feeling of flight that many people only dream about.

 Beech Bash in the Blue Grass April 30 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM CT (we suggest you arrive on the 29th and leave the 1st as we have a very full day planned) Where: Madisonville Regional Airport at 162 Airport Rd, Madisonville
Come to this event with the expectation of having a great time and enjoying the company of fellow Beechcraft and Bonanza owners. Additionally, we will have some of the biggest names in general aviation sharing their knowledge with our group. Listen to our amazing guest speakers: Mark Baker, Tom Turner and Scott Perdue!
Below is a schedule of events as well as a list of all the perks afforded to our attendees:
7:00-8:00 AM: Dawn patrol flight organized by Mike Turner
8:00 AM-10:00 AM: Pancake Breakfast at the airport
9:00 AM-12:00 PM: Guest speakers: Tom Turner, Executive Director, ABS Air Safety Foundation, Mark Baker, President of AOPA discussing GA state of affairs, Scott Perdue, Flywire, will be there to discuss GA concerns and display his F33C aerobatic bonanza.
Noon to 2:00 PM: question and answer time with Karl Gardner, Gardner Lowe Aviation (Avionics shop) to answer your panel upgrade questions, George Braly from Tornado Alley Turbo will provide the answers to your turbo normalization and GAMI questions, Jerry Clemens, Clemens Insurance agency for all your insurance questions, https://www.clemensinsurance.net/
11am-2ish: Enjoy Tracy's food truck for lunch while listening to live bluegrass music
2:00-5:00 PM: The Bard Distillery. Take a tour of an actively producing, real-life bourbon distillery and enjoy free samples of bourbon. Bottles of bourbon can be purchased directly from the distillery.
4:00-10:00 PM: Riddle Ranch. The Riddle Ranch is where the party begins! We’ll have a bonfire with hot dogs and hamburgers provided compliments of Jimmy Riddle and the City of Madisonville. Live music will be courtesy of James Gragg all the way from south Florida playing an acoustic guitar and singing. Additionally, we will have an area set away from the party where attendees can shoot skeet. (Guns and ammo will be provided or feel free to bring your own). We’ll wind down the festivities with a night cap around the bonfire so bring your bottle of bourbon. From there shuttles will take you to your hotel or back to the airport if you’re camping.
 EAA Chapter 1227 - Learn to Fly Day & Open House May 7 at 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET Where: Mount Sterling-Montgomery County Airport
Join us for an Open House and pancake breakfast to learn about our programs & activities, meet our chapter members and learn about our local airport.
The goal of the Flying Start program is to provide interested adults a pathway to flight training and involvement with our local EAA chapter.
Always wanted to learn to fly, but don’t know where to start? Ask questions about earning your private pilot’s license, try a flight simulators, or sign up for an Eagle Flight Experience with one of our Eagle Mentor Pilots to see what taking to the skies is really like.
Bardstown Fly-In Breakfast May 14 at 8:30 – 11 AM ET Where: Samuels Field in Bardstown Come enjoy a fly-in, drive-in breakfast at Samuel’s Field, Bardstown’s municipal airport! Open to the family, enjoy some food and check out 40+ planes that will fly in and out that morning. Held the second Saturday each month from March through October. Adults are $10. Children 12 & under are $6.

This year we welcome The Sidewinders to our stage. This special group of performers frequently appear with Bowling Green’s Orchestra Kentucky, performing as The Rewinders and the Retro Singers. We know you will enjoy vocalists Billy Duvall and Lisa Oliver Grey, Bhrett Puckett on guitar, Dave Allen on bass, Adrian Hile on keyboard and Webb Hendrix on drums.
