Bridge replacement project begins on KY 466 in Floyd County
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (April 18, 2022) – Construction began today on a bridge replacement project in Floyd County. The bridge is located at milepoint 2.59 along KY 466; 1.5 miles southeast of KY 122 and 2.59 miles northwest of the end of state maintenance. The bridge crosses the Left Fork of Beaver Creek and will be replaced with a new, realigned structure.
The bridge will be closed during construction and traffic will utilize a temporary onsite diversion. The traffic impact time is anticipated to be up to 60 days, and the new bridge is expected to open to traffic by June 17. Please use caution in the area and watch for traffic pattern changes and workers in the work zone.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Bridging Kentucky initiative is a commitment to improving safety and soundness of the Commonwealth’s bridges by rehabilitating, repairing, or replacing critical bridges throughout the state.
