Reduced Load Limit Posted on Bridges along KY 1917/Wolf Creek Road in Eastern Crittenden County

Load limit reduced to 11-tons on two bridges

PADUCAH, Ky. (April 5, 2022)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has reduced the load limit posting for two bridges along KY 1917/Wolf Creek Road in eastern Crittenden County effective immediately.

Following a recent inspection, an order was issued on March 30, 2022, to place additional load limit restrictions at the following locations:

KY 1917/Wolf Creek Road at mile point 1.395
A bridge over a Branch of Wolf Creek (Bridge 028B00059N) is reduced to an 11-ton maximum load limit due to substructure issues

KY 1917/Wolf Creek Road at MP 1.57
A bridge over Wolf Creek (Bridge 028B00060N) is reduced to an 11-ton load limit due to issues with the bridge superstructure

KY 1917/Wolf Creek Road connects Providence Road with KY 120 in the Shady Grove area of Crittenden County.

Approximately 20 vehicles travel KY 1917 in an average day.

KYTC District 1 engineers will review these bridges to determine if they can be repairs or will have to be replaced.
