Speed Limit Reduction Coming

to U.S. 42 in Trimble County

New speed limit signs set to go up next week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 18, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a speed limit reduction on U.S. 42 (Main Street), south of Bedford.

The speed will go from 55 mph to 45 mph starting just west of Persell Road and extending eastward to the existing 45 mph zone just west of KY 754. This means the new 45 mph zone will begin just west of Persell Road and continue to Stone Street.

Crews are scheduled to change speed limit signs on Wednesday, March 23. The date may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
