Daytime Closures of KY 164/Roaring Springs Rd in Trigg County Starting Monday, Feb. 21
Closures to allow extensive repairs due to recent flooding
PADUCAH, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans daytime closures along a section of KY 164/Roaring Springs Road in southern Trigg County starting Monday, February 21, 2022.
KY 164 will be closed from the intersection with KY 139/South Road near the 18 mile marker extending eastward to mile point 23.4 near the KY 525/New Hope Road intersection to repair extensive damage caused by recent flash flooding.
This section of KY 164/Roaring Springs Road will be closed from approximately 7:30 a.m., CST, and 2:30 p.m., each weekday when weather allows until the work is completed. Engineers are optimistic the work can be completed in about one week.
The volume of work and the positioning of equipment to facilitate the repairs will require the roadway to be closed to all traffic while the Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew is on-site.
There will be no marked detour. However, motorists may self-detour via KY 525/New Hope Road and KY 139/South Road. Trucks should seek an approved state route based on load weight.
Approximately 550 vehicles travel this section of KY 164/Roaring Springs Road in an average day.
KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely notice should this daytime work be completed earlier than expected.
