Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 Traffic Impact Report for Dec. 18 through Dec. 24

The District 3 area serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd and Warren Counties

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Dec. 18, 2021) – The expected traffic impacts in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 area for December 18 through December 24 are listed below. All work is subject to change.

Interstate 65

  • U.S. 231 Exit 20 – Crews are expected to be working along the shoulders of the U.S. 231 Scottsville Road interchange ramps Monday. Motorists should expect a mobile operation where equipment and crash protection vehicles encroach into the traveled lanes of the ramp.

Interstate 165

  • U.S. 231 Exit 33 - The project to reconstruct the Exit 33 interchange continues. The interchange is being reconstructed to a diamond interchange and the old cloverleaf ramps are being removed. Lane closures on I-165 and U.S. 231 are possible throughout the project. Motorists are using the new northbound on and off ramps that were recently completed. Please use caution in this area.

Allen County

  • KY 100 West (mile point 0.0 – 8.8) – A Highway Safety Improvement Project along KY 100 that includes super-elevation improvements, resurfacing, improvements to drainage structures, roadside slopes, shoulders and ditches will halt for the winter season. Crews are expected to work the first part of the week setting things up for construction pause. Work will resume in the spring of 2022.

Barren County

  • KY 63 Tompkinsville Road (mile point 6.3 – 13.2)– A safety enhancement project on Tompkinsville Road from Happy Hollow Road then extending north to the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway overpass will pause for the winter months. Work is expected to resume in the spring of 2022.

Warren County

  • U.S. 231 Scottsville Road - The Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP) on U.S. 231 Scottsville Road in the Alvaton area of Warren County will be paused for the winter season in the coming days. All lane closures and active construction work in the area will cease until spring. All intersections will function as they always have.
  • U.S. 31-W Bypass – The U.S. 31-W Bypass is still closed from the roundabout to U.S. 231X Broadway Avenue due to the recent storm damage. The roadway is expected to remain closed through early next week.
