UPDATE: I-24 Eastbound is Open at Illinois End of Ohio River Bridge between Metropolis and Paducah
Crash site is cleared
PADUCAH, Ky. (Dec. 9, 2021) – Illinois State Police report the EASTBOUND lanes of Interstate 24 between Metropolis, IL, and Paducah, KY, are open.
The crash on I-24 eastbound between the Metropolis Exit and the Ohio River Bridge has been cleared.
Due to the extended traffic backup, it could take an hour or more for eastbound traffic to return to normal flow.
The eastbound lanes of I-24 from Illinois into Kentucky are reported as open.
