Work Zone Lane Restriction on I-24 at 36mm Near Lyon County Weigh Station on Thursday, Dec. 9
Work zone to be active during daylight hours
PADUCAH, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2021) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to restrict traffic to one lane on Interstate 24 at the 36 mile marker near the Lyon County Weigh Station on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
This daytime work zone lane restriction for both eastbound and westbound traffic is to allow additional equipment to be added to the electronic truck monitoring system at the weigh station.
Motorists traveling I-24 should be prepared to encounter slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 36 mile marker. All through-traffic on the mainline of I-24 will move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and electrical personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
The work is expected to be completed in one day. However, some work at the site could continue into Friday.
This section of Interstate 24 also carries Interstate 69.
