Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice. Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, striping, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district daily. Get road construction updates on KYTC District 5 web page. JEFFERSON COUNTYI-Move Kentucky (I-64 / I-71 / I-265): Find out the latest project updates here: https://i-moveky.com/ Sherman Minton Bridge: (I-64 & US 150 over the Ohio River between Louisville, KY, and New Albany, IN) Find out the latest project updates here: https://shermanmintonrenewal.com/ I-264 East & West (Watterson Expressway): Lane closures and delays possible between mile marker 0 (I-64) and 12.7 (between I-65 & Poplar Level) for concrete repair. Weeknight (Monday through Thursday) lane closures are possible from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekend lane closures are possible from 8 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday morning. The project’s estimated completion is winter 2021. I-265 South (Gene Snyder Freeway): Left lane on the exit ramp to Westport Road and Chamberlain Lane (Exit 32) was closed on Jan. 29 after a vehicle struck the overpass. The left lane will remain closed until a repair can be made. Motorists should heed signage while moving through the work zone. Funding for repair has been secured; the project has been awarded. Work will be completed in summer 2022. U.S. 31E (Bardstown Road/ Buechel Bypass): Nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and delays possible on U.S. 31E (Bardstown Road) from Storage Way (mile point 5.8) to Hikes Lane / KY 2052 (mile point 10.98) for asphalt milling and paving. Lane closures are possible within project limits daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews complete pavement striping. This project began Wednesday, Sept. 29, with an estimated completion of late fall 2021. U.S. 31E (Buechel Bypass): Right lane closure over the Norfolk Southern Railroad (mile point 10.4) due to findings from a routine inspection earlier this year. The affected area is not visible while driving over the bridge deck. The lane will remain closed until a repair can be coordinated with the railroad. Motorists can use Bardstown Road as a detour. Find more details here: https://www.facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5). KYTC project team has submitted plans to the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. KY 146 (La Grange Road): Lane closures and delays are possible between Lilly Lane (mile point 6.3) and Stanley Gault Parkway (mile point 6.6) for utility work related to the upcoming installation of a left turn lane at English Station Road. Motorists should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. The project’s estimated completion is winter 2021. KY 155 (Taylorsville Road): Nightly lane closures and delays are possible from KY 2048/Betty Lane (mile point 15.10) extending north to U.S. 31E/Bardstown Road (mile point 16.54) for asphalt resurfacing. Work will continue nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. The project’s estimated completion is late fall 2021. KY 1450 (Blue Lick Road): Weekday lane closures possible between Gene Snyder and Preston Highway for road widening work. The project’s estimated completion is summer 2023.

BULLITT COUNTYI-65 South: Lane closures and delays are possible between mile marker 111 (just after Clermont Road/KY 245) to mile marker 110 for concrete slab repairs. The right and center lanes will be closed from 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, to allow for repairs and ample concrete curing time. Please note: This work will continue (weather permitting) for the next several weekends in various locations on I-65 South - starting at exit 114 and continuing for six miles to mile marker 108 (Wilson Creek Road/KY 733 overpass). Motorists should slow down, use caution, and heed signage while traveling through the work zone. KY 1494 (Beech Grove Road): The roadway is now open to traffic. Work was completed ahead of the scheduled completion date. Motorists may see crews, posted signage, and additional final inspection work in the coming weeks, but the roadway will remain open. Motorists should slow down and provide ample space so crews can work safely.

FRANKLIN COUNTYI-64 East and West: Lane Closures, traffic shifts, and delays possible between mile markers 47 and 52 for a bridges replacement project. The project includes replacing four sets of overpass bridges located at:
Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during daytime work (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Nightly lane closures are possible from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., which will reduce the interstate to one lane, will occur intermittently for the project's duration. On I-64 West, a rolling roadblock will be conducted between exit 53 (U.S. 127/Lawrenceburg Road) and exit 48 (KY 151), both in Franklin County. On I-64 East, the rolling roadblock will be conducted between exit 43 (KY 395/Waddy Road) in Shelby County to exit 48 (KY 151) in Franklin County. The rolling roadblocks will occur during nearby blasting, scheduled between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. today, Nov. 4. The blasting will continue between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. daily (Monday through Thursday) for the next six weeks. Exit 48 (KY 151) will also be temporarily closed during the actual blasting on those days. Message boards will be placed approximately eight miles ahead of the rolling roadblocks advising motorists of current conditions in each direction. Drivers should approach the work zone with caution as law enforcement will be maintaining rolling roadblock restrictions. The project began on Sunday, Oct. 10, with an estimated completion of late fall 2023. KY 1659 (McCracken Pike): Full roadway closure due to 500-foot slide (resulting from heavy rain and flooding). Slide location is between Glenns Creek Road/KY 1659 (mile marker 1.0) and near Harrod Carter Concrete (mile marker 2.0) in Franklin County. Engineering personnel are researching an appropriate repair option. Motorists should follow signed detour: Duncan Road/KY 1681 to Versailles Road/U.S. 60 (in Woodford County) to the East-West Connector/KY 676 (in Franklin County).

OLDHAM COUNTYI-71 South: Lane closures, traffic shifts, and delays possible between Exit 14/KY 329 and the Oldham/Henry county line (mile point 24.7) while crews perform pavement repairs. Work is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14. Work will continue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, and Tuesday, Nov. 16. Drivers should approach the work zone with caution as traffic will shift lanes while crews are performing repairs. I-71 North: Lane closures, traffic shifts, and delays possible between Exit 14/KY 329 and the Oldham/Henry county line (mile point 24.7) while crews perform pavement repairs. Work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 18. Drivers should approach the work zone with caution as traffic will shift lanes while crews are performing repairs.

SHELBY COUNTYKY 53 (Mt. Eden Road): Work to widen a portion of the roadway will take place from St. Regis Drive (mile point 6.4) to U.S. 60 (mile point 8). Two lanes of traffic will remain open to motorists throughout the project duration. The project’s estimated completion is late Fall 2022. KY 636 (Back Creek Road): Full closure of the bridge over Little Beech Creek (mile point 1.1) due to bridge replacement. Motorists can take the following detour: KY 44 (Mt. Eden Road) to KY 395 (Waddy Road). The project’s estimated completion is late Fall 2021.
