Paving along U.S. 60 just North of Smithland in Livingston County starting Monday, Oct 25
Work expected to take 3 to 4 days to complete
PADUCAH, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2021) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to establish a work zone for asphalt paving along a section of U.S. 60 in Livingston County starting Monday, October 26, 2021.
This asphalt paving project runs from the Brummitte Road intersection at mile point 13.25 near the Livingston County Fairgrounds extending eastward along U.S. 60 to mile point 15.1 just south of the KY 137/River Road intersection, a distance of about 1.78 miles.
This work zone is immediately north of Smithland and the U.S. 60 Cumberland River Bridge work zone. Paving at this site is expected to take about 3 to 4 days to complete, weather-permitting.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor. The target completion date is November 1, 2021.
