Extended Closure of KY 787/Bryant Ford Road at McCracken-Marshall County Line Starts Oct 18

Roadway to remain closed for approximately 1 month

PADUCAH, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2021)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans an extended closure of KY 787/Bryant Ford Road in southeastern McCracken County starting Monday, October 18, 2021.

KY 787/Bryant Ford Road will be closed from mile point 0.0 at the McCracken-Marshall County line to a culvert near the 1 mile marker to allow drainage and roadway improvements that include the replacement of three existing culverts with larger concrete culverts.

In cooperation with the Carks River National Wildlife Refuge, the project includes paving of several parking areas along the roadway.

KY 787/Bryant Ford Road connects with Oak Level-Elva Road in Marshall County.

The roadway at this site will be closed promptly at 8 a.m., CDT, on Monday, and remain closed for approximately 30 days.

There will be no marked detour.  Approximately 240 vehicles travel this section of KY 787 in an average day.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor.  The target completion date is November 30, 2021.
