Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice. Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, striping, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district daily. Get road construction updates on KYTC District 5 web page. JEFFERSON COUNTYI-Move Kentucky (I-64 / I-71 / I-265): Find out the latest project updates here: https://i-moveky.com/ Sherman Minton Bridge: (I-64 & US 150 over the Ohio River between Louisville, KY, and New Albany, IN) Find out the latest project updates here: https://shermanmintonrenewal.com/ I-264 East & West (Watterson Expressway): Lane closures possible between mile marker 0 (I-64) and mile marker 11 (Airport/Fairgrounds) for concrete repair. Weeknight (Monday through Thursday) lane closures are possible from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekend lane closures are possible from 8 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday morning. I-265 East (Gene Snyder Freeway): Overnight and weekend lane closures possible from the Billtown Road interchange (mile marker 18.8) to the Taylorsville Road interchange (mile marker 23.3) for a concrete repair project. Nightly lane closures are possible from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. I-265 West (Gene Snyder Freeway): Overnight and weekend lane closures possible from the Taylorsville Road interchange (mile marker 23.3) to the Billtown Road interchange (mile marker 18.8) for a concrete repair project. Nightly lane closures are possible from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. I-265 South (Gene Snyder Freeway): Left lane on the exit ramp to Westport Road and Chamberlain Lane (Exit 32) was closed on January 29 after the overpass was struck by a vehicle. The left lane will remain closed until a repair can be made. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone. US 31E (Bardstown Road/ Buechel Bypass): Nightly lane closures and delays possible on US 31E (Bardstown Road) from Storage Way (mile point 5.8) to Hikes Lane / KY 2052 (mile point 10.98) for asphalt milling and paving. Work will begin on Wednesday, September 29, and continue nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until work is complete. US 31E (Buechel Bypass): Right lane closure over the Norfolk Southern Railroad (mile marker 10.4) due to findings from a routine inspection earlier this year. The affected area is not visible while driving over the bridge deck. The lane will remain closed until a repair can be coordinated with the railroad. Drivers can use Bardstown Road as a detour. US 60 (Shelbyville Road/Frankfort Avenue): Nightly lane closures and delays are possible beginning Wednesday, October 6, from mile point 3.385 (~250 feet west of US60A) extending east to KY 1932 (mile point 3.543) for milling and paving operations. On Sunday through Thursday nights, lane closures are permitted between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. US 60A (Lexington Road): Nightly lane closures and delays are possible beginning Wednesday, October 6, from Stilz/Garden Drive (mile point 9.226) extending north to US 60 (mile point 10.55) for milling and paving operations. On Sunday through Thursday nights, lane closures are permitted between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. On Friday and Saturday nights, lane closures are permitted between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. US 60A (Taylor Boulevard): Nightly lane closures and delays possible on US 60A (Taylor Boulevard from mile marker 1.4 (KY 1865/Berry Boulevard) to mile marker 3.4 (just before Eastern Parkway) nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to install striping/roadway markings. This resurfacing project also includes changes to the existing striping and roadway alignment. Due to the nature of the work, nighttime parking will be restricted. Signs will be posted in the area to caution motorists of time restrictions and tow-away zones. KY 146 (La Grange Road): Lane closures and delays are possible between Lilly Lane (mile point 6.3) and Stanley Gault Parkway (mile point 6.6) for utility work related to the upcoming installation of a left turn lane at English Station Road. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. KY1447 (Westport Road): Lane closures and delays are possible from Freys Hill Road (mile marker 6.0) to KY 146 (mile marker 9.2) for asphalt resurfacing. Nightly lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. KY 1450 (Blue Lick Road): Weekday lane closures possible between Gene Snyder and Preston Highway for road widening work. KY 1531 Routt Road: Daytime Lane closures and delays are possible from Bradbe Road (mile point 3.758) to Bridle Gate Drive (mile point 4.21) for milling and paving operations. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route.

BULLITT COUNTYI-65 South: Right and center lane closures are scheduled beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday, October 4 to 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 5. Crews will be performing extensive concrete slab repairs beginning at mile marker 111 (just after Exit 112/KY 245/Clermont Road) and continuing south for two miles to mile marker 109. Closures will allow for repairs to be completed safely and provide ample concrete curing time. Drivers should use caution while traveling through the area or seek an alternate route. I-65 South: Lane closure and delays possible in the right lane for concrete slab repairs beginning at KY 480 (mile marker 115) and continuing south to KY 3538 (mile marker 114). The closure will begin Saturday, October 2 at 2:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, October 3 to allow for repairs and ample concrete curing time. Drivers should use caution while traveling through the area or seek an alternate route. KY 1494 (Beech Grove Road): Full roadway closure at mile marker 5.8 (Long Lick Creek Bridge) beginning on Wednesday, August 18, and will remain closed for the remainder of the year. Work is necessary to repair the embankment of the roadway due to a road slide. Motorists should follow the signed detour to avoid closure. KY 2673 (West Blue Lick Road): Daytime lane closures and delays are possible from KY 61/Preston Highway (mile marker 0) extending north to KY 1020/Coral Ridge Road (mile point 3.23) due to asphalt resurfacing. The project will begin on Tuesday, September 28, and continue until work is complete.

FRANKLIN COUNTYI-64 East: Right lane and shoulder closure possible at mile marker 51.5 (near Cardwell Lane overpass) from throughout the week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to signage work. Drivers should use caution and heed signage while moving through the work zone. US 127 (Owenton Road): Lane closures and delays are possible from just north of KY 1900/ Peaks Mill Road (mile point 11.86) extending north to the Franklin/Owen county line (mile point 21.4) for asphalt resurfacing. Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone or seek an alternate route. KY 898 (Shadrick Ferry Road): Lane closures are possible for asphalt paving beginning at mile marker 3.0 (.77 miles south of Miller Lane) extending north the intersection of US 127 (mile point 4.6). Drivers should heed signage while moving through the work zone. KY 1659 (McCracken Pike): Continued full roadway closure due to 500-foot slide (resulting from heavy rain and flooding). Slide location is between Glenns Creek Road/KY 1659 (mile marker 1.0) and near Harrod Carter Concrete (mile marker 2.0) in Franklin County. Engineering personnel are researching an appropriate repair option. Motorists should follow signed detour: Duncan Road/KY 1681 to Versailles Road/US 60 (in Woodford County) to the East-West Connector/KY 676 (in Franklin County).

HENRY COUNTYKY 389 (River Road): Temporary full roadway closure with no through traffic for cross-drain replacement. Crews will close the roadway at the KY 22 intersection (mile point 8.28), and the Marshalls Bottom Road intersection (mile point 11.14) on Tuesday, October 5, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Signs in the area will notify drivers of the work.

OLDHAM COUNTYKY 53 (South First Street): Daily Lane closures and delays are possible from the I-71 Southbound Ramp to Crystal Drive to construct new turn lanes at the KY 53 and Crystal Drive intersection. Traffic will shift, and a new traffic pattern will be installed while work is in progress. Project estimated completion is late Fall 2022. Signs in the area will notify drivers of lane changes and work. Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zone or seek an alternate route.

SHELBY COUNTYKY 53 (Mt. Eden Road): Work to widen a portion of the roadway will take place from St. Regis Drive (mile marker 6.4) to US 60 (mile marker 8). Two lanes of traffic will remain open to motorists throughout the project duration. KY 636 (Back Creek Road): Full closure of the bridge over Little Beech Creek (mile marker 1.1) due to bridge replacement. The estimated completion is late Fall 2021. Motorists can take the following detour: KY 44 (Mt. Eden Road) to KY 395 (Waddy Road). KY 2861 (Zaring Mill Road): Complete roadway closure with no through traffic at mile point 1.014 (approximately 0.5 miles south of Locust Grove Road) and 1 mile from the KY 148 (Finchville Road) intersection for culvert replacement. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 4, with a completion date of Sunday, October 24. The project will include installing a new concrete culvert, asphalt paving, and a new guardrail within project limits. Motorists should follow this detour route to avoid roadway closure: US 60 (Midland Trail) to KY 55 (Taylorsville Road) to KY 148 (Finchville Road).

SPENCER COUNTYKY 1060 (Plum Creek Road): Temporary full closures of road portions possible for cross-drain replacement. Work will start near KY 44 (Mt. Washington Road/mile marker 0) and continue north to KY 1319 Kings Church Road and Dale Road (mile marker 5) intersection. During weekdays, portions of the roadway will be closed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, nighttime closures between the hours of 5 p.m. and midnight are also possible.
