Traffic Advisory: Impacts to US 60, Other Highways in Rowan, Bath, Elliott Counties
Watch for flagged traffic; heed all warning signs
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Sept. 10, 2021) – Motorists should expect traffic impacts along US 60 and other state highways in Rowan, Bath, and Elliott counties in the coming days for Kentucky Transportation Cabinet improvement projects. Impacts include:

US 60 West of Morehead, Rowan and Bath County: Paving operations along US 60 from Cherry Lane (milepoint 17.4) in Bath County through Midland to the Rowan line (milepoint 0) at Farmers and east to KY 519 (milepoint 7) near Morehead will require one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers during daytime work hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, and Monday, Sept. 13. The work is part of a $1.4 million highway safety improvement project that also included curve and drainage improvements, guardrail, and signs.

US 60 East of Morehead, Rowan County: Paving operations along US 60 from Bramblewood Lane (milepoint 10.8) to the Rowan-Carter county line (milepoint 17) will require one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers during daytime work hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Sept. 14, and continuing through Friday, Sept. 17, or until complete.

US 60-KY 801 Roundabout, Rowan County: Contractors will complete final construction items at the roundabout. Minimal impact to traffic, but motorists should watch for crews working alongside highways and heed all signs and flaggers.

KY 1555, Elliott County: Contractors have been resurfacing the highway this week, requiring temporary daytime closures of KY 1555. Paving work should be complete today.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
