US 68 and KY 29 in Jessamine County
Traffic diversion for US 68 & KY 29 between milepoints 4.16 and 4.60
LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 11, 2021) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled traffic diversion for US 68 and KY 29. The traffic switch is necessary for motorists to be moved onto the new and permanent alignments.
Thursday, August 12 – 3 p.m. (time is approximate)
US 68 and KY 29
- traffic will be switched from the current US 68 and KY 29 diversions to the new and permanent US 68 and KY 29 alignments
- the contractor will begin by diverting traffic over to the new KY 29 alignment
- the US 68 switch will then follow
- motorists will be traveling on an asphalt base that will be temporarily striped
- a drainage pipe will be extended later and the asphalt surface paved
Note:
- the road will be closed briefly when the diversion takes place
- pilot trucks will direct traffic for the first hour or two to assist with guiding traffic through the new alignment
All work/closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
