Widespread Roadway Flooding Reported in Paducah Area
Motorists advised to avoid travel for next few hours
PADUCAH, KY (July 18. 2021) — We have reports of widespread roadway flooding in the Paducah area. Please avoid travel if you are in Paducah. If you are out and about, please use extra caution.
Crews are out checking on various locations and putting up signs where possible. However, there are reports of flooded highways a multiple locations around Paducah.
The soil is saturated from recent rains. There will be opportunities for additional flash flooding as thunderstorms move through the Western Kentucky region this afternoon.
As little as 6 inches of running water can push a vehicle off the roadway. Remember, Turn Aaround, Don’t Drown.
