Update - bridge project in Boyle County
The bridge over the Chaplin River on US 68/150 in Perryville
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 2, 2021) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this advisory serves as an update for the bridge project in Perryville. Operations are progressing for the new bridge over the Chaplin River on US 68/150. The project began Monday, June 7, and has an anticipated completion date of Thursday, October 14.
Beam setting is scheduled for next Tuesday morning. The six new beams will be delivered by six separate trucks. Each 33 foot beam will be unloaded on the bridge within one day. It will be necessary for the beams to be placed on the bridge due to space limitations within the work zone.

Lengthy delays for motorists should be expected.
Flaggers will be onsite assisting with traffic.
Wide load trucks should continue to utilize the posted alternate detours (signage in place) to avoid the construction site with a reduced lane width.
All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
