Group paving project expected to take about 2 weeks to complete
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 25, 2021) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans milling and asphalt paving along sections of KY 124, KY 164, KY 276 & KY 1585 in Trigg County starting Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
Motorists should be prepared to encounter work zone lane restrictions at the following locations:
KY 124/Cerulean Rd From Horse Creek Bridge at mile point 8.237 extending eastward to Cerulean-Bainbridge Road at mile point 10.290, a distance of 2.05 miles
KY 164/Linton Rd From Beechy Creek Bridge at mile point 3.816 extending eastward to Craig Branch Drive at mile point 5.859, a distance of 2.04 miles
KY 276/Hurricane Rd From Woods Road at mile point 2.86 extending eastward to Bethesda School Road at mile point 4.352, a distance of 1.49 miles
KY 1585/Caledonia-Pee Dee Road From We Like It Lane at mile point 2.176 extending northward to KY 272 at mile point 4.604, a distance of 2.43 miles
Prep work will start at these locations on Wednesday, June 30. A milling crew is expected to follow on July 1, with paving to start around July 2.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
This group paving project is one of several across the region that was originally planned for 2020, but had to be delayed when road fund revenue took a downturn during COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Rogers Group is the prime contractor on this $532,752 group highway improvement project. Asphalt paving at these locations is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The target completion date is July 16, 2021.
