Online Review of KY 207 Improvements in Greenup County Still Available

Info online at KY207.ky.gov through July 1

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (June 22, 2021) – You still have time to weigh in on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s online public review of its KY 207 improvement project in Greenup County.

The online public review – like a public information meeting but with materials available on a website – is live and accepting feedback through 5 p.m. July 1 at http://ky207.ky.gov. Please click, visit, view the materials, and provide any comments by the deadline.

The KY 207 project, which has been ongoing for a number of years, is a multi-million-dollar proposed rebuild of KY 207 to improve safety of the highway mostly along its existing route between Flatwoods and the Industrial Parkway (KY 67) in Greenup County. It includes straightening curves, reducing hills, and better intersections, and will improve the way the road connects to KY 693 at Flatwoods.

While known property owners have been contacted, the Transportation Cabinet wants to ensure all available information reaches everyone affected and that everyone interested in the project has the chance to provide feedback. Because the cabinet was not able to plan an in-person meeting due to COVID-19 restrictions, the maps, displays, and information have been made available at the project website. Interested citizens may review the online displays, as well as offer input and comments through a survey.

Again, the online displays and survey will remain available at http://ky207.ky.gov through 5 p.m. July 1. Printed copies of the online presentation and survey are available for review at the Flatwoods Public Library, 1705 Argillite Rd., and at the Flatwoods Municipal Building, 2513 Reed St. To request hard copies of the presentation, contact Darrin Eldridge at 502-782-8865 and a copy will be mailed to you.

Ensuring the public is aware of the phases of this proposed work, the various alternatives, and providing opportunities for the public to become informed, and involved, is critical as project planning progresses. It is also important for the project team and KYTC to acknowledge stakeholder input and feedback to gain an understanding of project impact on nearby communities and the region.

Responses from the public review survey will become a part of the official record for the project. Once compiled, the meeting record will be available for review and copying after an open records request is submitted and approved.
