Summer Camps
Aviation summer camps in Kentucky can give want-to-be pilots the chance to fly and inspire aerospace careers. Find out more below.

June 14-15, 17-18, 21-22 Where: Lexington Aviation Museum of Kentucky Summer Camp Camp dates for 2021 are June 14-15, 17-18, 21-22 for ages 10-17, and June 24-25 for ages 10-80. Parents and/or grandparents of campers are encouraged to attend this camp! Limited to 24 campers. Learn more HERE. |

July 13-14 & 15-16 Where: Bowling Green-Warren Co. Regional Airport (KBWG) Aviation Summer Camps The Jim & Jan Bohannon Aviation Summer Camp will take place July 13-14 for ages 10-17, and the Bob & Cara Pitchford Aviation Summer Camp will take place July 15-16 for ages 10-adult! Held at the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport and conducted by the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, this camp gives students the opportunity to learn about aviation-related topics such as aircraft instruments, aircraft design, aeronautical maps, aviation careers, flight simulators, NASA space, and even gives students a chance to fly a real airplane with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor! June 22-24, 2021 Where: Louisville 2021 OBAP/Shawnee Virtual Aerospace Career Education “ACE” Academy If you want to explore careers with aerospace professionals, get a behind-the-scenes look at the aerospace industry and government facilities, and learn more about the high-tech world of aerospace, then this is the place for you! June 12 at 9 am - noon EDT Where: Samuels Field Airport Bardstown Airport Discovery Flight Come out and talk with us about flying. We will also provide a discovery flight for only $30/person. Please schedule by contacting Dale (502) 320-7708. We love what we do!!! Let’s Fly!!! |

July 11-18 EDT Where: Taylor County Airport Jets Over Kentucky “The World's Grandest Jet Event”! There will be over 600 radio-controlled jet airplanes on-site! This is usually the largest gathering of model jet aircraft in the country! There will be a parade of lights and fireworks. This event is free for the public to enjoy except on Friday, July 16 & Saturday, July 17. There will be a $5 charge per person. 12 and under will be free. Images from Campbellsvilleky.com |

July 25 at 8:30-11:30 EDT Where: Addington Field - Elizabethtown Airport EAA Chapter Breakfast Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) local chapters are about people, bringing together individuals interested in learning more about aviation and sharing their own knowledge. So come join us for breakfast and fellowship! |

Oct 2 at 7 am-4 pm Where: Mount Sterling/Montgomery County Airport Fly-In Drive-In Breakfast and Aviation Day Mount Sterling/Montgomery County Airport will host annual Aviation Day. Pilots flying in will receive free breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7 am and ends at 11 am. Main activities start at 9 am and end at 4 pm. Airplane rides $30 per adult, $20 per child. Candy drop for the kids. Food, various vendors, and many fun activities for the whole family. Bring lawn chairs. Free parking. |

 National Aviation Day August 19
This day was established in 1939 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, by presidential proclamation, which celebrates the anniversary of Orville Wright's birthday.

Civil Air Patrol - Kentucky Wing
Civil Air Patrol provides educational flights to cadet members. This organization has drones and planes for those that reach for the sky.
