Milling and Paving along KY 453/Dover Road in Southern Livingston County starting Tuesday, June 1
Work to take about 2 weeks to complete
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 27, 2021) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans work zone lane restrictions along a section of KY 453/Dover Road in southern Livingston County starting Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
This work zone along KY 453/Dover Road runs from the Canal Bridge at the northern entrance to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area extending northward through the U.S. 62 Interchange and the I-24 Grand Rivers Exit 31 Interchange to the KY 93/Iuka Road intersection at mile point 8.282.
A milling crew is expected to start at the Canal Bridge and work northward along KY 453 on Tuesday, June 1. Paving is expected to start around Friday, June 4, at the KY 93 end of the project and work southward through the week of June 11.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers along the 2-lane sections of KY 453. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $2,045,662 project that includes paving at other locations. The target completion date is Tuesday, June 15, 2021.
