Concrete Replacement Project Beginning on I-265 in Jefferson County April 9
Weekend and overnight ramp and lane closures possible
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 6, 2021) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists of a pavement repair project scheduled to begin this week on I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in Jefferson County. KYTC contractors will be patching and replacing sections of the pavement on the interstate from the Billtown Road interchange (mile marker 18.8) to the Taylorsville Road interchange (mile marker 23.3).
Multiple overnight and weekend ramp and lane closures will take place as part of the work. The first closures will take place this weekend. Between 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, and 5 a.m. on Monday, April 12, the left lane of I-265 South from mile marker 18.8 to mile marker 23.3 will be closed. The ramp from Taylorsville Road to I-265 South will also be closed during this time. Motorists can detour by taking I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) and reconnecting to I-265 South.
This project was awarded to Mac Construction & Excavating, Inc. in September 2020 in the amount of $3,487,000.00. Work is scheduled to be complete by early fall.
