IDOT starts I-24 Resurfacing & Bridge Repair Project in Southern Illinois
Work zone restrictions start on KY side of I-24 Ohio River Bridge at Paducah
RESURFACING AND BRIDGE REPAIRS Interstate 24 MASSAC COUNTY
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) would like to alert motorists traveling on eastbound and westbound lanes of I-24 of LANE REDUCTIONS in Massac County.
Beginning Monday, March 22, 2021, weather permitting, there will be road construction work on I-24 that will require lane reductions. Work includes various bridge repairs, bridge approach slabs, patching, surface removal, hot mix asphalt binder and surface course, hot mix asphalt shoulders, guardrail, and pavement markings.
This work is along the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-24 from the Johnson/Massac County line to the Ohio River, milepost 24 to milepost 39. Motorists should reduce speed, be alert for equipment and workers and use extreme caution when traveling through this area. Work is expected to be completed November 15, 2022.
Eastbound and westbound traffic lanes will be reduced to one lane at various locations with a max width of 14’-3”.
