Crews removing downed trees and limbs in addition to clearing roadways
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 11, 2021) – District 7 crews, along with contractors, have worked all day removing downed trees, branches and limbs. This is in addition to clearing roadways of snow and ice in Central Kentucky. Personnel will continue to work through this evening.
The roadways for the 12 counties in Central KY are described as partly or mostly covered with snow, slush and/or ice. Crews are currently working toward pushing ice (as well as snow) from the roadways for B and C routes.
Temperatures are forecasted for the 30’s on Friday. Motorists should remember that bridges, overpasses, and ramps freeze prior to surface level roadways. Black ice can form on previously treated routes.
