Closure of KY 177 in Kenton County scheduled to start Tuesday
Necessary for rail drilling soil stabilization project
COVINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2019) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists KY 177 (DeCoursey Pike) in Kenton County will be closed in both directions on weekdays starting Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. between mile points 17.3 and 17.6.
Crews will drill rails into the ground to stabilize the soil against slips or slides. The closure will not be in place over the weekend but will return on Monday, Oct. 28 and be in place until the project is complete.
The road will be closed to through traffic and motorists should expect delays and avoid the route if possible. Drivers can travel around the closure via Wards Lane and KY 1930 (Locust Pike). Motorists should slow down and use extra caution when approaching and traveling around the closure .
