Metro Council elects Tandy as president for remainder of 2015

At its last meeting on January 22, 2015, the Metro Council elected 4th District Councilman David Tandy to finish the term of the late Jim King as President of the Council.  President Tandy will serve until January 2016.  Working with the leadership in both parties, President Tandy has named the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the Council committees including Councilman Ackerson as Vice Chair of the Land Development Code Committee. 


26th District Street Closing Proposal


At the January 22nd meeting of the Council, the following proposal was introduced.  It would close a portion of Rosemont Avenue near the Meredith-Dunn Learning Center on Melbourne Avenue.  The proposal was approved by the Planning Commission without opposition.  It will now go through the Metro Council Planning Committee and Council.  Here is the title of the ordinance:

"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF ROSEMONT AVENUE RUNNING FROM MIDLAND AVENUE TO THE WEST APPROXIMATELY 445 FEET AND CONTAINING 14,053 SQUARE FEET AND BEING IN LOUISVILLE METRO."

(CASE NO. 14STREETS1006).


BON AIR ESTATES NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION TO MEET MONDAY

The Bon Air Estates Neighborhood Association will meet this coming Monday, February 2, at the Bon Air Library on Del Rio Place.  Meet-and-greet from 6:30 pm to 7:00.  Meeting from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 


BON AIR NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING SET FOR FEBRUARY 12

The Bon Air Neighborhood Association is set to meet on February 12 at 7:00 pm at Seneca High School, 3510 Goldsmith Lane.  This is a general meeting for those interested in joining the association.


BROOKHAVEN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION QUARTERLY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 25

The Brookhaven Neighborhood Association will host its Spring Quarterly Meeting on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Cafeteria at Ascension Catholic Church. The church is located at 4600 Lynnbrook Drive off Brown's Lane. 


JUNK PICK UP NEXT WEEKEND IN URBAN SERVICES DISTRICT


If you live in the old City Louisville and pay the additional Urban Services District tax, your next Junk Pick-Up dates are coming soon.  Set-out is next weekend, February 6-8, with pick-up to take place beginning on Monday, February 9th.  Get to work this week and set it all over next weekend at curbside.
