 Recycle Your Christmas Tree
Metro Solid Waste Management will again this year offer curbside pickup of Christmas Trees to residents of the Urban Services District (the old City of Louisville boundaries). Beginning Friday, December 26, residents with City curbside yard waste pickup may set their Christmas trees and greenery out on their regular collection day. Trees must not be in plastic bags. Drop-off sites will also be available for all Louisville residents at three locations.

Holiday Residential Garbage Pickup
There will be no garbage pick up, recycling or yard waste
collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Services District (former
Louisville city limits) on Christmas Day, Thursday December 25, 2014.
There will also be no junk/bulk waste collection the entire week.
Residents who normally have collection on Thursday will have service instead on Friday, Dec. 26. The
regular Friday collection will be delayed until Saturday, Dec.27.

The end of the fall
semester is the busiest time of year for textbook rental company Chegg. The
California-based company processes returns and fulfills orders in their
Shepherdsville warehouse. This December, Chegg is hiring 1,500 seasonal workers
at its Shepherdsville location. According to Vice President of Operations Eric
Williams, they still have about 1,000 positions to fill.

 Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation once again welcomes children
and teens to its community centers for special winter break programs. A full
schedule of activities is planned, designed to keep youth engaged in positive
and educational play during this out of school time, including two motivational
sports leadership camps led by former UofL basketball player Robbie Valentine

education program designed to equip neighborhood leaders with skills and
resources needed to initiate positive change in the community through their
neighborhood associations. The Neighborhood Institute Spring 2015 is open to all
