The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will host the 6th Annual Buy Local Fair Sunday, May 18, 2014, at The Louisville Water Tower Park from 12:00pm - 6:00pm. The fair will host a variety of local businesses, bands, artists and craftspeople, community organizations, and farmers. The event will feature concerts, a cooking competition, a wide variety of Louisville’s diverse and local food scene, retail vendors, a KY Brewers Guild craft beer tent, and a children's area sponsored by Louisville Water and the Kentucky Science Center. Vacation time is quickly approaching. The Jeffersontown Police Department offers a free service you may or may not know is available: House Watch Program. This valuable program is provided to the residents of Jeffersontown. It is available to homeowners only. We are unable to provide this to apartments. The police department will check your home three times a day for up to two weeks. If the house watch goes beyond two weeks, it will be checked once a week. Your home cannot be for sale, and no one can be staying at the house during this period.
Information you will need for the house watch form:
• Name, address and phone number of an emergency contact person(s) picking up mail, feeding pets, maintaining your yard, cleaning services, etc. • A description of vehicles that will be in the garage or driveway, or if a neighbor will be parking a vehicle in your driveway. (Give a description of vehicle and neighbors name) • Which lights will be on and if they are on a timer, the times they will come on/off, animals that may be in an enclosed yard (so our officers are not bitten), your return date from your trip. • If you have a burglar alarm, you will need the name of the company and their phone number (make sure the alarm company and the police department has a person(s) that can be contacted to reset the alarm). • The house watch form must be turned in, in person at the Jeffersontown Police Department, 10410 Taylorsville Rd. You can be request one 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the department, or you can print one off the website (www.jeffersontownky.gov), fill it out and then bring it to the Jeffersontown Police Department.

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.
Jefferson County:
Eastbound Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Shoulder closures and delays possible between Breckenridge Lane and the ramp to eastbound Interstate 64 due to sound barrier construction.
Eastbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible between the Cinderella Lane overpass and the Smyrna Parkway interchange (mile points 12.8 and 13.5) due to sound barrier construction. Lane closures are possible weeknights from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and on weekends from 9:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. the following morning.
Eastbound Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Shoulder closures and delays possible between Taylor Boulevard and Southern Parkway (mile points 9.1 to 10.0) due to sound barrier construction.
KY 155 (Taylorsville Lake Road): Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with KY 148 (mile point 4.2) due to intersection improvements.
KY 2054 (Algonquin Parkway): Lane closures and delays possible between 40th Street and Winkler Avenue (mile points 0.0 and 3.2) due to sidewalk ramp replacement. Lane closures are possible daily from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
KY 2860 (Grinstead Drive): Lane closures and delays possible near Glenmary Avenue (mile point 0.8) due to pavement corrective work. Westbound lanes may be closed at times and motorists should follow the signed detour. This work is scheduled from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11.
Bullitt County:
Interstate 65: Roadway is reduced to two lanes in each direction between the Bullitt/Hardin county line and Lebanon Junction Road (mile points 103.3 to 105.9) due to concrete pavement replacement. One lane will be closed in each direction from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the work zone.
KY 44: Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Armstrong Lane/Fisher Lane (mile point 21.0) due to construction of turning lanes. Lane closures are possible in the evenings from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
KY 61: Lane closures and construction delays possible from Hillbrook Drive to just north of John Harper Highway (mile point 17.8 to 19.3) due to roadway widening and realignment.
KY 1319 (Kings Church Road): Lane closures and delays possible between KY 44 and 0.2 miles north of Markwell Lane (mile points 0.0 to 1.4) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 1531 (Dawson Hill Road): Lane closures and delays possible between KY 1319 and the Bullitt/Jefferson County line (mile points 0.0 to 0.67) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 2673 (West Blue Lick Road): Roadway will be closed between Pryor Valley Road and Coral Ridge Road (mile points 2.1 to 3.2) for pipe replacement. This road closure is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7 from 6:00 p.m. until midnight. Local access will be allowed, but all through traffic must detour this work zone via KY 61 and Coral Ridge Road.
Franklin County:
Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible on the ramps at the US 60 interchange (Exit 58) due to concrete pavement repairs.
US 60: Lane closures and delays possible at the ramps to Interstate 64 (mile point 13.3) due to concrete pavement repairs.
US 127: Roadway is reduced to one lane in each direction between Hill Street and Holmes Street (mile points 8.9 to 10.5) due to concrete pavement replacement. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 35 MPH. The section of roadway between West Broadway and Clinton Street (mile points 8.5 to 8.9) will be closed to through traffic on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All other days the roadway will be one lane in each direction to allow for access to the Frankfort Farmers Market. Motorists should follow the signed detours in the area.
KY 151: Lane closures and delays possible between the Anderson/Franklin County line and US 60 (mile points 0 to 3.2) for guardrail replacement and roadway resurfacing.
KY 1689 (Switzer Road): Lane closures and delays possible between US 460 and Rocky Branch Road (mile points 0 to 4) due to roadway resurfacing and striping.
Henry County:
Southbound Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays possible between the Trimble/Henry County line and the Little Kentucky River (mile points 38.0 to 28.1) due to construction and paving.
Oldham County:
Southbound Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays possible between mile points 22 and 20 due to construction of a bridge over the interstate. Lane closures are possible evenings from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 60 MPH.
Interstate 71: Lane closures possible in both directions at mile point 17 due to construction of a pedestrian bridge over the interstate. Lane closures are possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
KY 2857 (New Moody Lane): Shoulder closures and delays possible near Meadowbrook Drive (mile point 1.1) due to roadway approaches for new bridge construction.
Shelby County:
Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible from the Welcome Center to ½ mile east of KY 55 (mile points 27.9 to 32.8) due to roadway widening. Lane closures are always possible Sunday - Friday from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and on Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. A 12-foot width restriction is in place for the eastbound lanes of I-64 in this work zone
KY 55: Lane closures and delays possible at the I-64 interchange (mile point 6.2) due to roadway striping.
KY 1848: Shoulder closures and construction delays possible at the I-64 interchange (mile points 4.6 to 6.4) due to roadway widening. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The speed limit is reduced to 35 MPH in the work zone.
KY 1399 (Veechdale Road): Lane closures and delays possible near the Norfolk-Southern railroad crossing (mile point 2.0) due to curve widening.
Spencer County:
KY 44: Lane closures and construction delays possible between Oak Tree Way and KY 1633 (mile points 7.6 to 8.4) due for roadway realignment.
KY 1416 (Hickory Ridge Road): Roadway will be closed at mile point 3.0 between Ralph Spraggens Road and Eugene Hall Road for cross-drain replacement. This road closure is scheduled from midnight on Sunday evening, May 4 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5.
Trimble County:
US 421: Shoulder closures and delays possible on the bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2) due to bridge construction.
Southbound Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays are possible between the Carroll/Trimble County line and the Trimble/Henry County line (mile points 38.8 to 38.0) due to construction and paving.
