Here is the information we have so far:
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A large water main break has caused a stretch of Eastern Parkway to collapse, caused flooding in Tyler Park area and leaving customers without water.
The break happened around 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Baxter Avenue. From Air 3, water could be seen cascading down Baxter Avenue flowing into Tyler Park. The yards of homes to the north and west of the break location were impacted by the water.
According to Kelley Dearing Smith with Louisville Water Company, the intersection of Eastern parkway and Baxter Avenue has collapsed because of the break. Dearing Smith said LWC crews were trying to isolate water mains in the area. She also said some LWC customers had low or no water pressure.
Councilman Owen's office will send out more info as we receive it.
