In Old Louisville, it is time to get one of the city’s oldest and nicest neighborhood parks ready for spring. The call has gone out for volunteers to help with Central park Spring 2014 Improvement Day on Saturday, April 5th
The effort is part of the Community wide Brightside Cleanup.
“If you enjoy Central Park during the year and want to give something back, then come spend a few hours with our volunteers,” says Councilman David James (D-6).
Volunteers will meet at the Old Louisville Information Center and then fan out through Central Park cleaning up trash and garbage from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
Brightside will provide bags, rakes and gloves. However, if you can bring any extra tools to help out it would be appreciated. Following the cleanup, a barbeque lunch will be provided.
“It’s light work and it’s a chance to help sustain the beauty of Central Park and more importantly it helps enhance the Old Louisville Area,” says James.
Central park Spring 2014 Improvement Day is sponsored by the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council, Brightside, Metro parks, the Olmsted Parks Conservancy and Councilman James.
