Burglary Prevention Tip from LMPD

Did you know pawn shops have to almost immediately log pawned items into a data base that LMPD can access when trying to identify stolen property? If you have a block watch or a neighborhood association, you can purchase "Operation Identification" stickers to place inside a window facing outward. This lets a potential burglar know your property has been cataloged by serial number and photographed for immediate ID, which significantly increases a burglar's chance of getting caught. You can find more info online for Operation ID, or contact Sgt. Todd Brimm, Seventh Division, at 574-2133.
