Last week on a drive home from work, an alert citizen witnessed illegal dumping along Distribution Drive and decided to take action. After snapping pictures of the incident, the resident contacted our office with information that we were able to quickly relay to LMPD.
As a result of this incident the perpetrator has been held responsible for his actions and the mess has been cleaned.
Illegal dumping is a problem that affects everyone in our community. Because of the new updates to the Illegal Dumping Ordinance, vehicles involved in these crimes can now by impounded. If you know of any areas that routinely experience illegal dumping, please contact our office so that we may recommend the area for increased patrol.
If you witness an instance of illegal dumping in progress, please note as many details as you can from the incident (including pictures if practical) and contact either Metro 311 or the District 12 office at 574-1112 with the information.
Stay alert and help keep our community clean.
