Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is hoping to receive 45,000 ideas in 45 days about how the city should "look, feel and flow over the next 25 years." All ideas are welcome, and no idea is too big or too small.
The idea is to receive public input in seven categories, including the economy, energy, connectivity, creativity, health, living, and identity. Citizens' committees have been formed for each category. There are 2 public meetings scheduled for our general area:
- Monday, July 22nd – 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m., at the Outer loop Government Center, 7201 Outer Loop
- Saturday, August 3rd – 9 a.m.- 11a.m., at the Fairdale Playtorium, 10104 Mitchell Hill Road
Anyone unable to physically attend meetings is invited to connect with the Vision Louisville team online at visionlouisville.com or submit ideas through social media.

Ideas can also be submitted via text message to 502-603-6060. For complete details go to http://www.visionlouisville.com/.

Each digging project should prompt a call to 811 to prevent damage to underground lines, injuries, and disruption of service. Residents can have their lines marked by calling 811 at least two business days before performing any excavation work. Excavation includes:
- Installing a mailbox
- Installing a fence
- Planting trees or shrubbery
- Building a patio or deck
- Excavating a garden
- Installing a pool
- Any other work that requires digging
After calling 811, members from all affected utility companies in the area — including LG&E will mark the location of the lines. Dial 811, or call LGE at 502-589-1444 if you suspect damage to your utility lines.
