The Pleasure Ridge Park baseball team capped its amazing season by seizing the Forcht Bank/KHSAA State Championship last Saturday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Panthers scored on a gutsy squeeze play call in the 8th inning to top Mercer County, 3-2, and took home the trophy.
For coach Bill Miller the win was the crown jewel on a remarkable season that saw him become the winningest coach in state history with 1,115 wins in his career. Miller is now tied with the late Ralph Kimmel of Manual for most state titles with five.
So congratulations to Coach Miller and his stellar squad for bringing the trophy home to southwest Louisville and for providing a season full of entertainment and excellence.
