TARC announces Thunder Over Louisville plan
TARC is once again increasing service into downtown Louisville and setting up five post-event boarding areas for Thunder Over Louisville on Saturday, April 20 to help sightseers have access to the show. This plan is virtually the same as in recent years.
About 10,000 passengers are expected to take TARC downtown for the annual fireworks and air show event on the river. Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and know their route number and stop locations for arriving and departing trips. For easy trip planning using Google Maps, visit www.ridetarc.org.

Regular, one-way TARC fares are $1.75 for adults and $.80 for riders over the ages of 65, riders with disabilities and children ages 6-17. TARC will be providing normal service throughout the day, but starting at around 7 p.m. as crowds gather downtown, police may be forced to control traffic which may result in altered TARC routes.
Beginning at 3:30 p.m, more buses will be added on downtown routes, improving the frequency of bus arrival times at stops and adding capacity.

About the Ramble for the Roses
The Ramble for the Roses, first held in 1986 by Holy Rosary Academy, features a non-competitive 5K run/walk through beautiful Iroquois Park. The walk begins and ends at the Ramble Mini-Festival, located next to the playground and tennis courts off New Cut Road. The Ramble Mini-Festival offers a variety of informational tents and services, including:
- Live Music
- Food & Drink concessions
- Holy Cross, DeSales and Holy Rosary alumni/ae tents
- Inflatable Rides, Duck Pond & Face-Painting for kids
- State-of-the-art Sunnyhill Playground, featuring rope bridges, slides, a swaying boat, a fenced playground for toddlers and 3 swing sets. Sunnyhill is handicap-accessible with a rubberized surface.

Adult sizes: $20.00 • Child Sizes: $10.00
Early Entry Fee (Rec’d or postmarked by April 19):
Adult sizes: $18.00 • Child Sizes: $8.00
Pre-Ramble Pick-Up
Each paid registrant receives a long-sleeved Ramble T-shirt and a voucher for free ice cream or fruit. The first 600 adult registrants also receive an official 2013 Pegasus Pin. Pre-event pick-up will be available at DeSales High School and Holy Cross High School at the following times:
- April 24-26: 1:00-5:00 pm
- April 29: 1:00-6:00 pm
- April 30: 10:00 am-noon; Iroquois Park pick-up begins at 2:00 pm
Split-the-Pot Raffle
Win up to $1,500 in our Ramble Split-the-Pot! Chances are $10 each, 300 total printed. Drawing to occur at DeSales during the the Ramble for the Roses at 8:00 PM. Sample chances can be found on the registration form (see above). Please make raffle checks payable to DeSales High School.
Parking/Weather
Free parking is available at the Iroquois Amphitheatre and at DeSales High School. No rain make-up date is scheduled; walk, rain or shine!
 Bea is a three-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, of the Blue Heeler variety (just like country star George Strait owns). She's one cute, compact girl. Bea has the herding instinct and will need a job like being walked, playing catch or something to keep her active. She is not a couch potato and will do best in a household that is active. Any fan of Mad Max will recognize her look. Let her ride shotgun and your life will never be dull.
