Riverside Professional Building Ribbon Cutting

The Pleasure Ridge Park Area Business Association invites you to attend an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Riverside Professional Building  Thursday, November 15th 4:00-6:00pm at 8594 Dixie Highway. Come show your support and appreciation for the renovation and updating of a formerly empty building right in the heart of PRP!  


FACM Benefit at Fat Daddy’s Pizza

Come out to Fat Daddy’s Pizza Friday, November 16th for great food and live music to benefit Fairdale Area Community Ministries! Enjoy performances by Jeff Jones, Joseph Gadwah, Sunday six, Street Team, Kaylynn & Dustin, Enriched and more surprise performances! Admission is $3 or a canned good or toy donation.  This event is organized by Fairdale High School students and all proceeds go to FACM.

Community Thanksgiving Services

  • You are invited to join with neighbors from throughout the South End for an ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service on November 18th at 3:00pm. Worship will be led by youth from several area churches.  This service is sponsored by South Louisville Community Ministries and will be at Epiphany United Methodist Church, located at 7032 Southside Drive. Please bring an offering of non-perishable food items.
  • Fairdale Area Community Ministries is also hosting a Community-Wide Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:00pm at First Baptist Church Fairdale (413 Fairdale Road). All Fairdale citizens and people representing Fairdale churches are invited. There will be a dessert fellowship afterwards.

Cove Baptist Church’s Share & Wear Ministry offers clothing to financially challenged individuals and families in our community. Public Meeting on LG&E Rate Cases

The Kentucky Public Service Commission will hold public meetings this month concerning requests for rate increases by the Kentucky Utilities Co. and Louisville Gas & Electric Co. This is your opportunity to learn about the Public Service Commission’s rate-making process and voice opinions on LG&E’s proposed $62.1 million rate increase that would boost the average monthly electric bill for residential customers by $7.25, about 8.6 percent, to $91.46. The meeting in Louisville is Tuesday, November 20th, at 5:30pm at Louisville Male High School, 4409 Preston Highway.

The school is equipped to train and graduate up to 225 welders per year in its newly remodeled 20,000 sq. ft. facility and now offers corporate training & certification testing in all processes of welding. Select welding programs are approved for the enrollment of veterans with the GI Bill, Workforce Investment Act Training and Vocational Rehabilitation Services Training.
