Inaugural New Cut Trolley Hop July 28th

I am very excited to announce the kick off of the New Cut Corridor Trolley Hop on July 28th, held in conjunction with Kentucky Music Weekend at Iroquois Amphitheater and Family Canoe Day at Tom Wallace Lake.
The Trolley Hop is coming to the South End thanks to the vision and planning of several neighborhood leaders from the Auburndale, Scottsdale and Iroquois-Kenwood neighborhoods. Myself and Metro Council members Rick Blackwell, David Yates, Dan Johnson, Marianne Butler and Bob Henderson are supporting this event from our Neighborhood Development Funds. Thanks to everyone involved for all of the hard work and planning that has gone into bringing this exciting event to South Louisville!
The July 28th Trolley Hop will offer plenty of entertainment, with the Kentucky Music Weekend offering arts and crafts, workshops, and a full schedule of musical performances! Visit www.kentuckymusicweekend.com for a schedule. Tom Wallace Lake will also be hosting Family Canoe Day from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Canoe rental is $10 and the program is suitable for beginners. Please see the Trolley Hop Map attached to this newsletter to see where else the Trolley can take you! This season’s Trolley Hop schedule is below.

Louisville Loop Public Meeting July 31st

Louisville Metro Parks invites the public to participate in master planning of the Fairdale to Floyds Fork Shared-Use Path and Ecological Restoration Plan for the Louisville Loop, Tuesday, July 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way. The purpose of this public meeting is to present an overview of the shared-use path to obtain
  Louisville Loop
public input. Information gathered at this meeting will influence the next step of the planning process: identification of 3 shared-use path alternative alignments and ecological restoration opportunities.
This is the second of four public meetings for the project, which will ultimately result in a recommended alignment for the Louisville Loop from Fairdale to Floyds Fork near Bardstown Road. Gaining public input is a critical step in analyzing the potential locations of the shared-use path.
The meeting will begin with an Open House from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the project presentation from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and concluding with additional Open House and discussion from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
