Mayor Greenberg Announces $1.1 million to Support those Experiencing Homelessness in Louisville

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg today announced $1.1 million in grant funding available to local nonprofit organizations working to prevent and address homelessness in Louisville.

“Every person in Louisville deserves the opportunity to find stability and build a better future,” said Mayor Greenberg. “This funding helps make sure our most vulnerable neighbors can access critical services and resources when they need them most.”

The Louisville Metro Office of Social Services, through the Homeless Engagement Assessment and Response Team (HEART), allocates the Homeless Initiative Fund to help protect Louisville’s most vulnerable residents during periods of crisis, including severe weather events. The application window for the Fiscal Year 2027 Homeless Initiative Fund is open Aug. 10-21, 2026.

Application Opens: 12 a.m., August 10
Application Office Hour: 1 p.m., August 13 (Meeting Link)
Application Closes: 5 p.m., August 21
Application Review Period: August 25-September 1
Award Notifications: September 2026
