Dear Neighbor,

Starting Monday, June 1st at 12:01 am, I-65 from Jefferson Street (Exit 136C) to the Watterson Expressway/I-264 (Exit 131) will be closed for two months. Southbound Traffic will need to exit at Jefferson Street. Northbound Traffic will be diverted to the Watterson/I-264. The closure is expected to reopen by August 1st.

This closure is necessary to replace three bridges along the I-65 corridor.

Traffic leaving Downtown can access northbound I-65, I-71, or I-64 via the East Liberty Street ramp, which will remain open throughout the process.

Closing I-65 for two months, although necessary, will bring significant traffic challenges and delays. Please consider your route carefully, plan for extra time to get through the impacted area, and be considerate and kind to others on our roadways. This closure will impact anyone traveling to or through Downtown Louisville for the next two months.

If you have internet access or a smartphone, there are several tools and apps that can provide information on current traffic conditions and alternative routes. Please consider trying one out during this period if you don't already have one. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is an Agency Partner with Waze, a free GPS navigation app with real-time traffic updates. Visit Waze online or download the app from Google Play or the Apple App Store for free.

Enjoy the weekend,

26th District Councilman

Letter

Our office routinely publishes information on upcoming public meetings and regarding planning and zoning cases in and around District 26. Our posting in this forum is not an official notice. This list may not be comprehensive nor does it include other zoning matters decided upon by zoning authorities other than Louisville Metro Government.

While we intended to expand the scope of our zoning notices, our office reverted to the former policy of relaying the information we receive from Planning and Zoning. We are limited by ordinance and state law to provide the publicly available information.
