   Dear neighbors,
Please join me in saying farewell and thanks to Geoff Wohl, longtime legislative assistant in District 10. He retires this week. I feel so lucky that Geoff stayed on with me after serving with former Councilman Pat Muvihill for two terms. He was an invaluable resource for me to ask, "Who do we call about graffiti?" "Do we have a sign guy?" "What did Pat do about....?"
Over more than 10 years, Geoff has helped hundreds of constituents navigate issues big and small. As we've visited small city meetings and departments over the last several weeks, it has been touching to hear stories of his impact, from picking up prescriptions for an elderly constituent during an ice storm to mediating neighbor disputes. At our last council meeting, I was able to present him with a proclamation to honor his exemplary service to Louisville. Now he will be spending more time with his grandkids, Luna and Max, and in his workshop.
New LA, Justin Soforo, has been making the neighborhood association rounds. If you've haven't met him yet, you will soon. He's at justin.soforo@louisvilleky.gov.
What an exciting past couple of weeks it has been in D10.
Camp Taylor Water Park is officially open, and it is beautiful! I enjoyed watching the kids make the first splash at the ribbon cutting hosted by Mayor Greenberg. Thank you to my colleagues Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins (D1) and Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D2) and others for joining in the festivities. I can't wait for everyone to have fun in the sun this summer.
The Turtle Derby put on by the Little Sisters of the Poor is always a great time. I stopped by to watch "the slowest two minutes in sports," and was excited to see community members come together to help raise funds for charity.
New D10 Legislative Assistant, Justin Soforo, approves the water park!
Recently, D10 has had multiple organizations pouring into our area. Thank you for helping improve our district!

After a call for help with their facilities (note: Metro Council cannot invest directly into Germantown because it's on privately-owned property), The Germantown Baseball League (bottom left) was presented with a $70,000 check from Shirley's Way.
Northeast Christian Church (bottom right) spent time in the Bashford Manor area for their Love the 'Ville service blitz.
Geoff and his wife Cindy might not live in D10, but they love spending time in it.
He and Cindy have two kids: Zach and Zoey. Zach and his wife, Lili, have two children who are the light of Geoff's world - Luna and Max.
Over the past 10+ years, Geoff has truly enjoyed meeting various neighborhood groups and seeing what all each has to offer the district. What he will miss the most? Interacting with the older residents of the district and connecting with them about how much it has grown over the years and what more can be done to continue it. Additionally, he will miss seeing all of the park improvements take place and the various community events that take place at one.
