A transportation planning study now underway in Jefferson County will evaluate potential improvements to the Interstate 65/Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) interchange.
This study includes a full analysis of existing conditions and will evaluate improvement concepts to address congestion, improve traffic flow and enhance the safety of the interchange. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to share their feedback, as well as review existing traffic, safety, and environmental information related to the planning study.
The public meeting will be an open-house event with no formal presentation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the South Central Regional Library at 7300 Jefferson Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40219.
An online public survey will also be made available following the public meeting through April 30, 2026: bit.ly/I65I265study.
A second public meeting is expected to be held in the Summer of 2026, and the final report is expected to be published by the end of 2026.

Louisville Metro Solid Waste Management will be hosting various free recycling and large item disposal events throughout 2026. All events are from 10 am to 2 pm on select Saturdays:

Residents can drop off a variety of items, including large household items, up to three electronic devices, scrap metal, bundled yard waste, up to four tires, and household recyclables. Additional services include prescription medication collection by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, on-site document shredding by a vendor, and gently used shoe donations to WaterStep.
New this year, residents can also bring gently used textiles and household items, which will be donated to Goodwill Kentucky.
Residents are encouraged to review accepted and non-accepted items before attending and take advantage of this free service.

Our Diaper Bank collects diapers to help agencies that assist low-income and homeless families. We supply diapers for children, the elderly, and the disabled. Over the past year, we have donated over 50,000 diapers a month to 24 various community agencies.
The Dancing for Diapers Gala is our largerst annual fundraiser and provides critical support that keeps babies clean, dry and healthy.
The Diaper Bank ONLY distributes to community agencies (not individuals).
