District 3 Annual Report

2025 has been an incredible year for our District 3 community. This was Councilwoman Parrish-Wright's second full year on Louisville Metro Council, and she was able to work on several projects, initiatives, and legislative priorities to score wins for our district, including:

Capital Projects

  • $5,100 for the maintenance of Schardein Cemetery
  • $50,000 for the Shively Splash Pad
  • $57,000 for the fence along Manslick Road
  • $8,600 for speed humps
  • $940 for honorary street signs
  • $5,000 for street lights

Legislation

  • Sponsored and passed The Peoples' Consent Decree
  • Sponsored and received unanimous support for recognition of Wrongful Conviction Day
  • Co-sponsored over 30 pieces of legislation including increased tuition assistance for Metro employees, zoning changes to allow additional affordable housing, and improved enforcement of codes and regulations

Events & Programs

  • 10 District Advisory Board Meetings
  • Townhall with the Commonwealth's Attorney
  • District 3 Building Our Block & Chili Cook-Off
  • District 3 2nd Annual Good Neighbor Awards

And these are just a few highlights, and the list is not exhaustive. Since the writing of this report, Councilwoman Parrish-Wright has allocated tens of thousands of dollars just into community programs, including public safety initiatives, youth programming, senior assistance, and community events. Councilwoman Parrish-Wright has co-sponsored several additional items of legislation since the writing of this report. A detailed report of expenditures is below the annual report.

Councilwoman Parrish-Wright was also the keynote speaker for the Exploited Children's Help Organization (ECHO) and St. Vincent de Paul for both of their annual events. Councilwoman Parrish-Wright was a panelist at several conferences, including the 12th Annual Cities United Conference, here in Louisville. As if that wasn't enough, Councilwoman Parrish-Wright received awards from the Adinkra Alliance, and the National Homeless Law Center.

Please see our annual report below, which will be public on the District 3 website next week.
