FUNDING FOR SPEED HUMPS, STREETLIGHTS AND SIDWALK REPAIRS/ REPLACEMENT COME FROM THE SAME FUND ALLOCATED TO EACH DISTRICT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR, EACH COUNCIL DISTRICT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR. EACH COUNCIL DISTRICT RECEIVES $100,00 FOR THEIR CAPITAL INFRASTRUCTURE FUND (CIF).

IN APRIL DISTRICT 5 ALLOCATED $131,539.99 TO REPAIR 30 SIDEWALKS WHICH WERE RATED 5 OUT OF 5 OR TRIP HAZARDS. AT THAT TIME OUR DISTRICT HAD $634,875.55 IN UNFUNDED SIDEWALKS RATED 4 OR 5. THE REMAINING $31,539.99 WAS FUNDED WITH FUNDS WHICH ROLLED FROM THE PREVIIOUS FISCAL YEAR.

LISTEN LEARN ACT ANTI-RACISM CHALLENGE

On October 3, Listen Learn Act will kick off our 20^th quarterly Anti-Racism Challenge. 

At this time, unity for our country and community is foremost in our minds. Though we all wish it were no longer necessary, we still need to work toward equity. That’s what the Anti-Racism Challenge is all about: staying aware of the racism that still plagues us and proactively working to change it. We hope this city-wide Challenge will reach every corner of Louisville.

Take the City-wide 4-Week Anti-Racism Challenge sponsored by Listen Learn Act!  

How it works: For 4 weeks, beginning October 3, participants will receive a weekly email with a list of 10-12 anti-racism activities (read an article, watch a video, visit a Black-owned business, etc.) We ask participants to complete 3 of the activities over the course of the week. It is purely personal; you don't report to anyone. KentuckianaWorks Services include high-demand job training, one-on-one career counseling, career development workshops, career search resources, access to computers, phones and faxes for job searches.

Kentucky Career Center The Kentucky Career Center offers information on unemployment benefits & claims as well as many services for job seekers.

Louisville Urban League Assists clients, primarily African Americans and individuals of low to moderate income, prepare for and find employment.  Services include counseling & placement services, training & development, pre-screening & referral services and outreach programs.

Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs    This site includes information about education and training benefits available to veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
